Hotel Auberge Van Strombeek

A disgrace. Booking.com advertises a 3-star hotel, but where are the stars? The hotel is filthy, bordering on unsanitary. The electrical connections are appalling. In short, avoid this place!

HORRIBLE 😳 I absolutely do not recommend it. Filthy bathroom. Dangerous electrical wiring (missing protective covers and loose sockets).

Run-down rooms, cold water in the shower, no TV reception, no breakfast 👎👎👎

Well, what can I say... It's nothing more than a slightly better-than-average dive. The building's a bit run-down, and my room (25) has a bathroom the size of a shoebox. I had to fix the shower head to the holder with cable ties because nothing else fit... The mattress is very, very soft, and you won't find a single hook for a jacket, backpack, or anything like that. The Wi-Fi is okay. Breakfast is extremely unusual, in the sense that there isn't one. On the plus side, coffee and tea are free... The Atomium, the trade fair grounds, Mini Europa, and Heysel Stadium are all within walking distance... We stayed here for six nights (during the trade fair assembly). It's better than sleeping outside, and I suspect there are some rather voluptuous Brazilian women working here... At least, that's what it looked like. 😁 Anyway, the Wi-Fi is quite alright, in case I didn't mention that already. 😅
