Literally the worst hotel/hostel experience I have ever had in my life. Do not trust the good reviews, I do not know how this is possible. Initially booked a shared dorm, I've stayed in many hostels before, and this one looked nice. I have never been in such a stinky room in my whole life. It smelt worse than ice hockey locker rooms, It smelt like it. It hasn't been cleaned. The washroom was repulsive, #1 all over the floor and #2 on the toilet seat lid. They said it was cleaned everyday, so I waited till the next morning at 10:00 a.m. and it was still not cleaned. I went to reception to see if I could get my room switched, and decided I was just going to pay to upgrade, maybe that experience would be better. Unfortunately, I had to pay last minute price hike to upgrade my room, even though my dorm was booked months in advance, fair enough I guess. My upgraded room was literally the noisiest place I have ever had to sleep. The doors slam so loud. I can hear doors slamming the floor below, the floor above, and all the way down the entire hallway. It is so insanely loud and disruptive. It happens all night, and nobody even bothers to try and close the doors gently. The walls are extremely thin, it sounded like the people in the room next to me were playing tag, running back and forth in the room stomping slamming on the walls. Not only that, there are very few public places to be other than your room. After 11:00 p.m. they lock the kitchen, they lock the common areas downstairs, and apparently you're not allowed to eat anywhere except for the kitchen. So what I'm just supposed to not eat in the entire building after 11:00 p.m.? Ridiculous. The staff were nice enough I guess, but didn't really seem to care that I've had such an awful experience. The price of the dorm is good value, if you like sleeping in a stinky locker room that never gets cleaned. The value of the rooms is poor, they are not nice and expensive for the quality of the room. Maybe you pay for the location near the train station? Other than good access, all that gets you is homeless people screaming on the street all night. On top of all that, the beds are lumpy, it's like sleeping on uneven ground. It feels like my lower back is being pushed up and my feet and shoulders are falling down. I could not possibly recommend this hotel to any human being on Earth. I will repeat, I have no idea how this hotel has such good reviews. I wish I was staying anywhere but here.
