Marjan Forest Park (Cruising)

The pine-forested Marjan peninsula that wraps the western edge of Split doubles as the city's main outdoor gay cruising area. Activity concentrates on the quieter trails through the woods and along the rocky coves west of Kašjuni Beach, away from the busy family sections. It is most active in the warmer months and in daylight, tapering off after dark. Croatia is comparatively safe for LGBTQ+ visitors (and the coast more relaxed than the interior), but Marjan is a protected public park used by walkers, runners and families — be discreet, keep to the secluded margins, take your litter, and read the situation before making any approach. Same-sex activity is fully legal; public indecency is not, so common sense applies.
