Pytloun City Boutique Hotel

Room itself was very nice. But I will never go to a self check in hotel again. I arrived late, tired, stressed, hungry, and sweaty, with almost no battery on my phone. Already completed the check in at home, but still needed the digital room key. This process was very confusing, because there was a pile of cards, but then the system says you need a phone, so why are the cards still there. You need to download a special app. To activate the key you need a code but this code is almost impossible to find in the app. The system says the code is in the email but I could not find it there. Took me half an hour to get it to work while stressing what I was gonna do when my battery died. And then even if I got the key I was still stressing about not being able to open my room if I couldnt use phone and also couldnt call the number then (since no personnel in hotel itself). There was a security guard at building reception but he was useless as he didnt speak English or German and just looked as if he was having a mental breakdown. The garage was also confusing. I read that it was supposed to open automatically but it didn't, so then I was anxiously trying to find the service number to call for help with my 3% battery. And then 10 minutes later the garage suddenly mysteriously opened. I later asked the security guard if he maybe was the one who opened it for me, but then he just looked at me confused again. Breakfast room way too hot, breakfast food items seemed not fresh like from day before. They send you these nice automated text messages but when you respond to them to, for example, tell them that a waterfall is leaking out of the AC, no one responds. So ok, I knew I was booking a self checkin hotel, so my own fault. Just realize that if you want a nice relaxing holiday experience, pay some extra for a hotel with a receptionist.

Everything OK, including check in, parking, breakfast sufficient. Disadvantages: little space to unpack for 2 people and old, smelly carpet...

Outdated hotel does not match the photos. Hygiene is poor, some things show that they have not been cleaned for months. Expired food is offered in the room. There is no elevator to the upper floors. The smoking ban is ignored by both employees and guests. The black-haired manager is clearly not capable of solving problems caused by the "hotel"

The room's furnishings resemble a museum.

I don't want to speak ill of the hotel, but I think future guests should be aware of a few things. Check-in is quite straightforward if you download the app beforehand and fill everything out in advance. The approximately €80 deposit for the minibar, which must be paid by credit card, should be made clearer. The rooms aren't particularly large, but they're adequate. If you want peace and quiet, book an even-numbered room, as these are located away from the street and overlook the courtyard. However, if you want to see Jested and the sunset, you'll need an odd-numbered room, such as 505. The terraces are large, but not particularly inviting—just a few plastic furniture pieces, that's it. A bit of greenery would be nice. What really bothered me was the whirlpool tub... specifically, the one in the room above mine. These things are so deafeningly loud that if they're used late at night, sleep is impossible!
