Marseille Pride — Marche des Fiertés
About This Event
Pride Marseille is the Marche des Fiertés of France's second city. It's organized by Fierté Marseille Organisation, a nonprofit association, and has marched since 1993. Marseille hosted EuroPride in 2013. The march comes at the end of a Mois des Fiertés (Pride Month) of events that runs from early June into early July. It's later than most French prides, so it often falls on a hot Saturday in early July.
The day starts with an associations' village on Place Castellane from noon. The march follows in the late afternoon and ends with a free concert outside the Hôtel de Ville. Ticketed official parties pay for the march and the month of events. They're the main way to support it if you're visiting.
The 2026 march was on Saturday, July 4, under the slogan "Aucune marche arrière" ("No backward step"). It took a new route from Place Castellane down rue de Rome and cours Saint-Louis, along the Canebière and the Vieux-Port quays, to the Hôtel de Ville. The Mois des Fiertés ran from June 3 to July 5. The organizers say the march draws 15,000 to 25,000 people a year. We found no independent count, so the 40,000 figure is too high. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked. The march is usually held on the first Saturday of July.
