Chéries-Chéris is Paris's premier LGBTQ+ film festival, running annually in November across three MK2 arthouse cinema venues: MK2 Beaubourg, MK2 Bibliothèque, and MK2 Quai de Seine. The 2026 edition runs November 14-24.
The festival screens international features, short films, documentaries, and retrospectives, with a focus on work that is rarely seen outside specialist LGBTQ+ festivals. Guest appearances by directors and performers, post-screening discussions, and an awards ceremony on the final night round out the programming. The MK2 network of venues — all known for their quality curation and comfortable screens — makes the screening experience itself above average compared to many film festival conditions.
Chéries-Chéris takes its name from the French terms for beloved (feminine and masculine), and it has maintained a commitment to including work that represents the full breadth of LGBTQ+ experience rather than focusing on a single community. The festival is well-integrated into the wider Paris cultural calendar and is taken seriously as a film event independently of its identity focus.
