About This Event
Berlin CSD (Christopher Street Day) happens every July. It's Germany's second-biggest pride event, and it's a huge deal in Europe. Berlin's been a queer capital since the 1920s, and it shows.
Over 700,000 people march or watch the parade. It starts on Kurfürstendamm, goes through Schöneberg — Berlin's first gay neighborhood — and ends at Nollendorfplatz.
This isn't just a party. Berlin's pride is overtly political. The CSD organization picks a new theme every year and pushes hard on LGBTQ+ rights, both in Germany and beyond. Before the parade, there's a rally at the Brandenburg Gate. Afterwards, open-air events take over Strasse des 17. Juni.
The whole week before the parade, Berlin's club scene goes into overdrive. Berghain, SchwuZ, KitKatClub, and dozens of other places do special programming. Berlin's the world's clubbing capital, so pride week just cranks everything up.
