via Stay22About this place Raststätte Gnadenbrot
Raststätte Gnadenbrot on Martin-Luther-Straße is a gay-friendly restaurant that looks like a European motorway rest stop, but in a good way.
The name translates to "roadside diner with a bread-and-butter job," a wry joke that hints at the place's sense of humor. It’s been a fixture in Berlin’s queer community for years, even after changing hands in 2008.
It’s not trying to be fancy. Think casual, a little quirky, with a retro theme that makes it feel less like a restaurant and more like a set piece from a 70s road trip movie. If you're looking for something that feels genuinely different from the usual Berlin spots, this is it.
For current hours and menus, check raststaette-gnadenbrot.de. Things in Berlin change fast, so it’s smart to look before you go.

Delicious food, just like Mom used to make… I love coming back again and again 😍❤️
:-) ❤️ ❤️😀 We always love coming back here.
Good food, friendly service, ambiance reminiscent of an older rest stop.
It's simply a social place right in the heart of the Schöneberg neighborhood. People look around, they know each other...
We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. There were four of us, and we sat outside on the terrace. The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and the portions were very generous. The service was incredibly friendly, and we felt very comfortable. We'll definitely come back again next time we're in Berlin!
