Hotel Ostmeier

Great hotel, super price, top location! Getting there was a bit tricky, as Bochum is currently one giant construction site. But everything still went smoothly. Friendly staff, large room. The building is old, but the furnishings are functional and well-maintained. The room was spotless. Quiet hotel. However, it was quite noisy on the street on Saturday. Leaving the window open wasn't an option. The location is fantastic, just a few steps from the city center. Breakfast was great, fresh, and with a wide selection. The price for parking and accommodation is simply amazing! This hotel will definitely be my first choice again for any future stays in Bochum!

The hotel is fantastic. We stayed for five nights and felt completely at ease. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is superb; Bochum's main train station is a 15-minute walk away, and the subway and tram are just a 5-minute walk. Parking is available behind the hotel for €6.50 if you've booked a space. In short, we would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel.

I don't think this hotel is worth 2 stars, but that is just my opinion. No heating in the bathroom and a super small, cramped shower. There was a mini-fridge in the bedroom, but I found the prices they charged there absurd; well, then you wouldn't even think about ordering anything from there. A plus point was the elevator to the 3rd floor; I did have to be very careful when going from the elevator to my room because there was a very low passageway of 185 cm high. As a tall person of 196 cm, I had to be very careful not to hit my head. The beds were short, but a chair and an extra bed/sofa with a small table were nice. The Wi-Fi was also okay, but a bar is useless if it isn't staffed; the reception wasn't always staffed either. A plus point was the option to reserve a parking spot in advance.

Highly recommended for a short trip to Bochum. Our car and e-bikes were safely parked in the courtyard. The room was quiet and very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The Starlight Express Theatre is within easy walking distance.

On the morning of our departure, we had a nasty surprise: instead of the four rooms we had booked, we were charged for five. There was no plausible explanation. Luckily, we checked the bill and complained! My impression was that guests were just a nuisance here. I wouldn't book this place again.

A truly wonderful little hotel. Centrally located with cozy and clean rooms. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful – especially the way you're looked after at the (generous) breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. There's something for everyone, including a small vegan selection, and plant-based milk (hot or cold). On my next visit to Bochum, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the team!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Ostmeier in Bochum. We would especially like to commend the friendly and helpful staff. Public transportation was on strike during our stay, and the team was very understanding and supportive – we were truly impressed. The hotel is centrally located, so many places are easily accessible on foot. Our room was very clean and well-maintained. Despite being on a main road, it was pleasantly quiet in the room, allowing us to sleep well. We would gladly return and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very friendly and polite staff, excellent breakfast, somewhat rustic decor but clean. Great location. Parking in the courtyard is fantastic.
