You only go here for the ambiance... if you like 20-year-old cobwebs on the ceiling... The server had to ask four times about the four items we ordered, and the food was almost inedible. (For example, the Käsespätzle were swimming in grease. The unsalted Spätzle to cheese ratio was about 20/80.)

We had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, and some of it was only lukewarm afterwards.

Very cozy, traditional pub. Will be back soon.

A cult pub with good food.

I haven't been here for about three years and unfortunately, I've noticed that things have changed significantly for the worse. The portions have become noticeably smaller, while the prices have increased considerably. In my opinion, the food has also declined in quality. I don't expect Michelin-starred cuisine, but a solid overall experience. I'm out. It's a shame… When you charge significantly higher prices for smaller portions and declining quality, the value just doesn't add up for me.

This pub is one of Freiburg's few truly authentic pubs. A real institution! Unfortunately, the service on Wednesday at lunchtime is very slow, loud, and rude. It takes 20 minutes for a shandy to arrive! The food, however, offers unbeatable value for money.
