I celebrated my milestone birthday with 40 guests, some of whom also stayed at the restaurant. Everything was absolutely perfect, both for me and my guests! The service was relaxed, attentive, and flexible; the food was of the highest quality, beautifully presented and served. Special requests (no fish, vegetarian, etc.) were accommodated. It was the best beef fillet I've had in ages! Excellent wine recommendations! The ambiance was cozy with a Black Forest/Baden flair. The rooms were quiet despite being in the city center! The price-performance ratio was excellent! A big thank you to the team!

Unfortunately, I must say I was deeply disappointed by this hotel. I was in high spirits about visiting Germany's oldest inn and was hoping for some kind of "experience," which I certainly got, but in the worst possible way! I don't even know where to begin. As soon as I entered the hotel, a horribly huffing hotel employee greeted me. She commanded me in an imperative tone that I had to say "Good morning" as soon as I saw anyone entering the hotel, otherwise it would be "impolite." Secondly, after this appalling experience, when I entered the conference room and freshened up to explore Freiburg, the same employee approached me again and admonished me for having a loud voice and for being quiet next time. I don't recall having made such a serious mistake. ``` As I stood outside the entrance, the employee completely crossed the line. A colleague of mine is severely obese and has a severe disability; he struggled up the entrance step. The woman came around the corner and called him slow, saying she was faster. My colleague was devastated from that moment on. I'll be glad when I can leave this hotel. Such rudeness and utter unprofessionalism in just three days is completely unacceptable. The staff should be reminded of the DIN ISO 9000 standard and made to revisit the topic of "quality." It's a real shame, you have to understand.

The hotel is located in the old town, very close to the cathedral. The Dreisam river is just a few minutes' walk away, and the train station is about 1 km away.

Nice atmosphere, original old guesthouse. Clean rooms, nice breakfast.

Simply sensational!!! All the dishes we ate with our group of 20 were so good that my Irish, North German, and Swiss colleagues were absolutely thrilled. I've rarely eaten such a delicious steak. The price is fantastic for the quality, the location is truly special, and the staff is outstanding—flexible and generous. Generous isn't usually associated with restaurants, but in our case, it definitely was. Thank you so much!

A super cute little hotel! The room is a bit dated but has a lot of charm. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is adequate. The location is perfect too, right in the city center. I'd love to come back :)
