Loved the rustic and cozy feeling. Clean rooms and nice staff. Also, perfect location to take the tram to the town center or to Hinterzarten where you can hike in the black forest. The included breakfast is fresh and hearty.
The food quality at the restaurant is more than inadequate, and the prices are far too high for what you get. The sauces are inedible and an insult to any good chef. The Spätzle are cheap, mass-produced, and the French fries are of poor fast-food quality. The portions are small. The kitchen staff clearly has no idea about good Baden cuisine. The waitstaff is listless and unmotivated. The owner or manager is nowhere to be seen. For breakfast, they serve mass-produced baked goods and pasteurized, dry scrambled eggs. No thanks, Gasthof Schützen.
Fantastic place!
The front desk staff was very nice, but the rooms are probably Uncle A's. 😩
