About this place Hotel Minerva

Hotel Minerva is a four-star property near Freiburg's Hauptbahnhof with an established gay-friendly reputation. The location gives easy access to both the Altstadt — a 10-minute walk — and the train connections that make Freiburg surprisingly well-connected: Basel is 45 minutes south, Strasbourg 45 minutes north, and the Black Forest begins on the eastern edge of the city. For visitors attending CSD Freiburg in July, the Minerva provides reliable upscale accommodation within walking distance of the festival. Freiburg's CSD is modest in size (around 15,000 attendees) but has a character — politically engaged, queer-feminist, university-city energy — that makes it different from the larger CSDs in Cologne or Hamburg.

A lovely hotel in the city. We felt very comfortable. The staff were friendly and happy to accommodate special requests. Parking was also convenient. Regards

A very nice, small hotel (approx. 400m) from the old town. Location, cleanliness, value for money, and service are very good. The hotel description is accurate; parking is charged separately. The breakfast is varied, well-stocked, and of very good quality.

A lovely, personal hotel in the heart of Freiburg. Delicious breakfast buffet. The room had a charming little balcony with a small table for two. Unfortunately—and this was the only downside—the bed (for two people, room 28) was actually too narrow. Perhaps 1.40 meters. However, everything else more than made up for it. Good value for money!

Loved our stay here! Minerva is one of those charming, old-timey hotels, the kind where you use physical keys instead of keycards and they serve homemade marmalade at breakfast (which was lovely, btw!). The elevator is in the stairwell hole and has stained glass walls and I thought that was so cute and pretty. It's a stone's throw away from the main station and the Altstadt, super duper central. The people who run it are very sweet and friendly, the rooms are spacious as compared to the ones in those silly chain hotels. Will definitely come stay here again! ❤️🌸

Excellent choice in Freiburg. Close to the main train station and minutes from the city center. Spotless, comfortable rooms. Very friendly service.
