Premier Inn Freiburg City Süd hotel

Fine hotel. Not expensive, modern, clean, spacious room. Boring surroundings, but you are in the Old Town in 15 minutes.

The room was very pleasant. The parking was very expensive. On the plus side, Mohammed was a great man, very kind and pleasant.

Good mid-range hotel, rooms are excellent, currently a bit too expensive, but that could be due to regional events.

Great hotel near the train station and the old town. The rooms were very well equipped. The only thing I would complain about is the fan. It's a bit noisy. You should close the door, then it's fine. We didn't have breakfast; we were only staying overnight because we were continuing our journey by train.

Warning!: Theft! Illegal debits! They withdrew money from my account even though my booking was set to pay on arrival. Now I had to cancel and am waiting for my refund, which is causing complete chaos and has pretty much ruined my week. I'm not an ATM!!!!! Thanks for nothing! Update: I called Premier Inn, and they are extremely uncooperative and unwilling to help, issue a refund, or forward the receipts I collected through Booking.com to their accounting department. Scam! Theft! Illegal! The police will be contacted as soon as the deadline has passed. Never book here!!!! Scam! Fraud! Theft! Update: I got my money back. But I guess I won't get any time, patience, or an apology from Premier Inn...

Horrible service of the staff, if I could give a negative rate for this property I would do it in a heartbeat. Both male employees from the reception are unprofessional, unwelcoming and lazy. The morning shift guy employee (a bit small), instead of greeting us “good afternoon” when we came for check in, the first thing he said was “you’re too early”. When we finally checked in, another male employee from afternoon shift (a bit taller one) didn’t acknowledge our presence first, he just passed by to fix the vending machine, took his time to drink his water and do his thing in front of the computer before he talked to us. His facial expression shows he’s just forced to work in this property— which made us uncomfortable. When we also paid cash, the way he told us that he doesn’t have his cash set up at the moment felt like it WE WERE A BIG INCOVENIENCE for him even though I have informed the property prior to our arrival. After checking in, we gave him our luggage tags (luggage that they stored for us) and we received another lazy facial expression from him. Even my husband who is usually cool with everything was also disappointed with the service. The german lady was nice as I heard her checking in another guests. I thought this was an isolated case, found out most of the bad ratings of this property from Booking .com is related to the bad service. The management probably just copy paste reply from chat gpt. They answered a review last November 2025 regarding training the staff, but I don’t think it even happened based from the horrible service we got. Better to book another property, avoid this at all cost. Imagine, we are traveling around Europe for our honeymoon just to be given a traumatizing experience. Good location. Good accessibility by train or car. At walking distance from the old city center. Excellent parking (don’t know whether you may book in advance, but when I arrived on a Thursday evening there was plenty of space). Comfortable and functional room. Comfortable bed. Very quiet, but I had the window shut. Breakfast was a near perfect experience. Details: the shower might be mounted too low for people over 1,85m. Some dorsal flexibility required to access the toilet roll. Not possible to pay the parking in advance. I would return there any time.

The hotel's location is truly excellent; everything is easily accessible from there. We did have a minor issue with the room, but Mr. Khan, I believe the hotel manager, more than made up for it with a very kind gesture. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for his courteous manner and professionalism. We can definitely recommend this hotel.
