I'm a regular visitor to Hanover and usually stay at the Smartcity Hotel. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the services seem to have declined. Previously, when two people shared a room, each guest received a small bottle of shampoo, shower gel, and some sweets. Now, there are no sweets, and instead, two people only receive one bottle of shower gel and shampoo. What a shame! Another major drawback: breakfast costs €17. That's far too much! The annoying tourist tax of almost €13 is also a nuisance!

A charming hotel in the city center, right next to the train station and not far from the city forest. I'm usually only in Hanover for a short time, and this hotel is my first choice. Efficient, clean, and pleasant... and aside from the exceptional elevator design, I also find the "mini-bar" on the ground floor fantastic. I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on a business trip. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the train station, and there are bus stops right in front of the hotel if needed. The rooms are new and very spacious. I don't understand the complaints from others about the glass partition between the bathroom and the room; I thought it was a nice touch. Breakfast and the service, both there and at the reception bar, were excellent. The hotel's location makes it very suitable for short stays in Hanover.

The hotel is very conveniently located, near the main train station and within easy walking distance of the beautiful city center. Despite the proximity to the station, which can sometimes be unpleasant, the area is perfectly fine, and I never felt unsafe. My room was clean (not spotless, but perfectly adequate), very spacious with a desk and plenty of shelving. An armchair would have been a nice addition. The room's design wasn't exactly to my taste, but tastes vary. I liked the bathroom. However, if you're traveling as a couple, you should consider whether you're comfortable with a (partially frosted) glass wall between the room and bathroom – when the light is turned on in the bathroom, it also brightens the room. The hotel's overall ambiance is unremarkable and somewhat dated. The bar is small and dark, but quite cozy for a short stay. The only drawback: My room faced the street and the train tracks. It was noisy at night, and I only tried sleeping with the window open on the first night. I didn't have breakfast there. What I'd particularly like to praise is the service: Everyone I met there was friendly and helpful. My extra request (a kettle in the room) had already been fulfilled when I arrived. And: When you call the hotel, you don't end up with a central hotline or voicemail, but with the people at reception. It's great that such service still exists! ;-) I'd gladly come back and thank you for the lovely stay.

We only stayed one night for the marathon. Centrally located, functionally furnished, and reasonably priced. Very friendly reception and clean rooms. Unfortunately, there was a bad sewage smell in the bathroom at first, but it improved towards the evening. The TV was outdated (poor cable reception/many channels were distorted).

Very centrally located. Well-renovated and functional hotel. Excellent dining options in and around the hotel. Sensational bartender. (April 13, 2026, evening) Good breakfast. 20-minute walk to the conference center. Excellent public transportation. I'll be back.
