Panel discussion: Tracing Traces: Nazi Past in One's Own Company - Historical-Political Education in a Corporate Context

Nazi forced labor was a daily mass crime during World War II. After the war, however, forced laborers were among the forgotten victims of the war for decades. A large proportion of the companies that profited from forced labor long denied any responsibility, and the belated reappraisal was a laborious struggle, mostly carried by survivors and dedicated civil society.
In the panel discussion, we therefore want to focus on the following questions: What role do companies play today in reappraising their own Nazi past? How can employees be sensitized to Nazi history within their own company and how can responsibility in the present be strengthened? And can job-specific historical-political education in memorial sites contribute to this?
