The Extreme Right and Misogyny in Environmental Education and Nature Sports

Extreme right-wing actors are also involved in environmental and nature conservation as well as nature sports for ideological reasons. Established formats of environmental education, nature experience and spending time outdoors are also taken up and combined with ideological content. At the same time, there are always points of connection for misogynistic content and right-wing ideologies in environmental education and nature sports that are oriented towards democratic values.

Together, dangers will be identified, discussed and reflected upon, and the connections to the right and corresponding demarcation possibilities will be examined using practical examples.

Among other things, colonial continuities, discriminatory ideas of nature and the role of natural and outdoor spaces for right-wing ideologies will be considered, and ways will be developed to consciously design educational and nature sports offers responsibly, with a focus on diversity and democratically.
