About the event
Class Struggle: A Magic Bullet Against Fascism?
Class struggle is necessary. But higher wages don't make you anti-racist, affordable housing doesn't make you feminist, and a kindergarten spot doesn't make you critical of conspiracy theories. Workers aren't "seduced" by authoritarians and fascists; they have their own minds. If they can't sell their labor power, their livelihood is threatened. This compulsion is a breeding ground for authoritarianism. Especially in times of crisis. "Who prevails – me or you, us or them?" The right-wing wave stems from inhumane capitalist elbow-competition. Only struggles that break the chains of interest of labor power sellers can be anti-capitalist, anti-patriarchal, and anti-fascist. "Class identity" doesn't help here.
