Libertarianism — Exercising Power Through Narratives of Progress

Monday, 21 September 2026 · 19:00 – 22:00 planlos-leipzig.org, Leipzig, Germany

About the event

Lecture by tante (Jürgen Geuter). Doors open 7 PM.
Part of the series on left-wing critique of tech-fascism. All dates here.

tante criticizes the AI hype and critically examines the libertarian-influenced principles of faith. Where do these principles of faith actually come from? What contradictions arise within them? Are they consistent with our ideas of democracy and human rights? He analyzes elements of TESCERAL ideology that shape the thinking of leading Silicon Valley figures and explains the impact of their narratives in the European context.

Jürgen Geuter (better known online as tante) studied computer science and philosophy and works as a Research Director in the research, implementation, and testing of new technologies. As an independent consultant, author, sociotechnologist, and keynote speaker, he deals with topics at the intersection of technology, society, and politics. He is a founding member of the transdisciplinary Otherwise Network (ownw.de), which connects experts from various fields to guide digital transformation. He writes more or less regularly for various German publications (including SPIEGEL, Zeit, Süddeutsche, Heise) and advises NGOs, political parties, and the Bundestag.
