Workshop: Working on an Equal Footing — Shaping Democratic Decisions Together

Thursday, 20 August 2026 · 10:00 – 16:30 planlos-leipzig.org, Leipzig, Germany

About the event

Part of the workshop series "Strengthened Through Crisis" – a cooperation between Konzeptwerk Neue Ökonomie e.V. and Konfliktpotential

Just like in society as a whole, it is rarely easy to make decisions democratically within one's own organization and to productively incorporate different needs, experiences, and positions. At the same time, the way you make decisions internally significantly shapes the credibility and effectiveness of your democratic work externally.
This workshop is aimed at everyone who wants to consciously shape decision-making processes in their organization or group and learn or deepen concrete methods of decision-making. The focus is on different forms of democratic decision-making, such as consensus and consent procedures, sociocratic elections, or other participatory approaches for groups and organizations. With a view to your work structures, we will reflect together on how participation can be designed so that different voices are given space. And how diversity can be experienced as a real resource, rather than just being tolerated. Furthermore, we will look at the prerequisites for solidary and sustainable cooperation – how can decision-making processes be designed transparently without permanently overloading individual people? What internal structures promote trust, commitment, and equality?
