Cafe Regenbogen in Munich’s Lindwurmstraße isn't just a gay cafe. It's an honest-to-god fundraiser, with every euro going straight to Munich AIDS-Hilfe, supporting people with HIV, their friends, and their families.
You can drop in for a quick coffee, a casual lunch, or a longer meal. It's a relaxed, gay-friendly spot, and you'll find it easy to settle in. Knowing your bill helps fund crucial community work just makes the coffee taste better.
There are other gay dining options in Munich, of course. But this place feels different, less like a business, more like an extension of the organization it supports. It’s right there in the name: Regenbogen means rainbow.
Head to Lindwurmstraße for a meal that actually makes a difference. It’s easy to find, and a good break from the usual tourist circuit.

Operated by AIDS-Hilfe München (Munich AIDS Support Organization). Lots of affordable but good food. Highly recommended. Lunch is always good 👍
Very good gazpacho
We recently moved our office nearby and have been checking out the local restaurants for our lunch breaks. At Café Regenbogen, we consistently find a good and very reasonably priced selection of food. The restaurant offers both meat and vegetarian options, both of which are delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. The concept is fantastic! The service and food are always quick and efficient.
Great for lunch. Friendly service, delicious food.
