Park Inn by Radisson Nürnberg

Very nice room, super friendly welcome, would gladly stay again. Top address in a prime location near the old town and the main train station.

Check-in took far too long, with almost a 30-minute wait. Afterwards, we were informed that the air conditioning was broken, which is unacceptable in 30-degree heat. They could have at least called a repairman. There was no water in the room, and the self-service kiosk was overpriced. The receptionist spoke broken German. However, the room and bathroom were clean. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend it, especially for business travelers. The parking garage was very cramped. The TV was faulty (the picture was distorted).

I do not recommend the Park Inn | Sandstrasse, Nürnberg (Radisson). I’m writing this review with mixed feelings because the staff was friendly, efficient, helpful - no matter how busy it was at check in or check out, they handled the flow smoothly. Based on the team alone, I'd rate the hotel 5/5 but the best overall rating I can give is a 3/5 because the infrastructure seems to be falling apart. Whoever is in charge of facility maintenance has some work to do. Parking is next to impossible because the garage is very poorly laid out. It's two levels so if you drive your car down there, be aware the spots are extraordinarily tight so it is very difficult to maneuver into position. Furthermore, to drive between the first and second level, you will have to pull a plastic chain to get clearance for a green light otherwise you'll sit there waiting. There's no sign telling you to pull this plastic chain. The parking spots are tight because heating / ventilation / piping protrude into some parking spots, it's like playing a game of three-dimensional Tetris to get your car into position. One of the two elevators didn't work and the functioning elevator was slow. There was no sign on the elevator that was out of service advising the guests. When I plugged a phone charger into my room, the outlet was so worn out the plug hung loosely. To charge my phone I had to plug it into the electrical outlet in the toilet (there are few outlets to begin with) and for one of them to be defective is surprising. Again, this review is intended to criticize general management and not the people running the show at the front desk who deserve recognition.

The staff was super friendly. The room was perfectly fine and clean. Sleeping was impossible – you might as well lie right next to the road 🫣. I recommend everyone: don't book a room facing the street, and if it's hot, ask for a room with working air conditioning in advance. Breakfast: very few options for vegetarians/vegans. This could really be improved with a few small additions. Just one or two savory spreads 🙂. That shouldn't be a problem at all these days. The staff definitely made up for this visit. I wanted to try the hotel because I often stay overnight in Nuremberg. I will book a different hotel in the future.

Good relaxing atmosphere.

A very nice hotel in a great location. The reception staff are really very friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The air conditioning broke down. I spoke with a guest who was there for a trade fair, and he said it wasn't the first time the air conditioning had failed. It's irresponsible that rooms are still being rented out despite this, and the lack of communication is unacceptable. I expected more from this hotel chain. It's a real shame. And then there's the attic room. With an outside temperature of 35°C, it's unbearable. I hope something is done about it.

My experience was not that of a 4-star hotel. Although the room was exactly as it appeared in the photos, the bathroom extractor fan was constantly running, which was very disruptive to sleep. I was told it was because it was old and couldn't be turned off. Furthermore, I had a problem with the cleaning of my room. There's a button in the bathroom that indicates you want it cleaned. I pressed it the first day to have my room cleaned, but they didn't. The second night, I didn't request it, and at 9:00 a.m. they tried to open the door to clean it… Finally, you have to pay €2 per suitcase to store your luggage, which I think should be a free service.

The room and kitchen were OK, very central location.

The ice machine is commendable, but the air conditioning is only so-so. Contacting the hotel in advance via the booking platform was unsuccessful. Rooms facing the street are very noisy, and the terrace is unfortunately neglected. The furnishings seem very cheap. Breakfast is good, with honey from a honeycomb and freshly prepared egg dishes made to order.

Very good hotel. It even has a small sauna.
