Christopher Street Day Stuttgart

Stuttgart's Christopher Street Day is one of Germany's largest Pride events, with up to 400,000 people attending the parade in past years. It's still a political demonstration, not a street party. The Interessengemeinschaft CSD Stuttgart organises it, and the parade is the highlight of the CSD-Kulturwochen, a series of cultural and political events in the weeks leading up.

Here's how it works: groups register as formations - anything from clubs and political parties to companies and city institutions. They assemble on Rotebuehlstrasse late in the morning. In 2026, the parade kicked off at 2pm and made its way via Rotebuehlplatz, Eberhardstrasse, Marktstrasse, Muenzstrasse, and Karlsplatz to Schlossplatz. That's where the rally and stage programme took over.
156 formations registered in 2026, down from 161 in 2025. For the first time, the city entered its own truck, shared with transit operator SSB, Stadtwerke Stuttgart, housing company SWSG, the university hospital, and the VVS transport network.
