Down Town Suites by Athens Tower Hotel

Great stay in the city center, breakfast is served in the building opposite on the sixth floor with a very nice view!

I arrived at the accommodation with my suitcase, and to my great surprise, I had to climb 20 steps with difficulty in my hip to access the elevator. I asked them to transfer me to the next room and they told me I had to pay an extra €100! At the Athens airport I moved around in a wheelchair.

Truly fantastic, perfect room with balcony, excellent cleaning, they changed the towels and cleaned the room every morning, perfect location for visiting the tourist spots of Athens.

On the positive side: very good location, quick access to archaeological sites and Monastiraki and Plaka. There is also a metro stop next door that goes to the airport. Clean room, a bit small, good sleep quality. Very good breakfast and with a view of the Acropolis, but the neighboring building is about 50 meters away. On the negative side, I only put the elevator that operates from the mezzanine floor and above, if you have mobility problems or heavy suitcases you will have an issue. The stairs are steep and without good lighting, the first steps especially without a handrail/railing to hold on to.

The bathroom smelled awful, like sewage; every morning they sprayed air freshener trying to mask the odor that permeated the room. The bed was pushed up against the wall, making it difficult to get in and out; the photos on Booking.com are not accurate.
