Now, at the beginning of February, the restaurant is closed and the place is also free of tourists. But the owners still treated us to traditional food upon our arrival and after check-in, and it tasted fantastic. Everything at the Windy Place Hotel is a bit dated, and you shouldn't expect much luxury. The rooms are spacious and clean. They're furnished rather practically, but with everything you need. It was sufficient and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay during our road trip.

Flying bugs galore. We chased them away with the towel,..... dirty mirror, bathroom shower with mold, dirty bathroom furniture, dirty toothbrush holder (not that we would use it) )) tiles also dirty, lots of dust on the window, and the toilet only worked once.... I'm sorry if we Greeks see them and talk about this crap, think of the tourists who come.... it discredits our beautiful Crete...

The rooms are about 300 meters from the taverna, further into the center. Our room (3-bed basic) had a fantastic view of the mountains. It was a bit dated but functional, and the beds were comfortable. The owners were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were provided with dinner and breakfast (very reasonably priced, by the way), even though there was no one else there. The food was okay, but nothing special. The bread was always fresh. We used the accommodation as a base for a hike in the mountains, and it was perfect for that.

The owner prepared everything fresh and very tasty, and at unbeatable prices. Very nice people.
