About this place Mango Bar

Mango Bar operates inside the walls of the Rhodes Old Town — one of the relatively small number of LGBTQ+-welcoming bar venues within the medieval city itself. The Old Town context gives the bar a physical setting that no New Town venue can match: the medieval stonework, the narrow streets, the ambient sounds of a 700-year-old walled city after dark. The bar is relaxed and informal, fitting the Old Town's increasingly mixed character (the medieval city has evolved from a purely historical site to a lived neighbourhood with a functioning bar and restaurant scene) and drawing the kind of crowd that prefers the character of the historic quarters to the more conventional resort strip. For gay visitors who are staying inside the Old Town — in one of the many boutique hotels that have opened within the walls — Mango Bar is the most convenient and characterful option for an evening drink.

Review of Mango restaurant. We had a very good dinner there. There was a good selection of classic Greek and local dishes. The grilled squid was delicious. Beautiful location in the square with the Retzep Pasha mosque and fountain.

Mango Restaurant 07/21/26 Nice location, tourist trap The chicken souvlaki was good, the pork souvlaki very tough, the dakos salad with a lot of lettuce (????) with minimal feta cheese and the chickpea pita bread unfortunately wasn't fried properly. I wouldn't recommend it.

We first went there four years ago for a few cold drinks and returned to Mango on our Rhodes trip this year. The staff is very friendly, and you can enjoy a bit of peace and quiet away from the tourist crowds with freshly tapped beer and good food. We'll definitely be back!

We stumbled across Mango while exploring the Old Town and we're so glad we did. Hidden away from the busy tourist streets, it's a beautiful, peaceful spot with fantastic food and genuinely friendly service. It was a refreshing change from the restaurants trying to pull you in every few steps. If you're looking for a relaxed meal in a lovely setting, this is definitely worth seeking out. We'd happily come back again.
