Simply the WORST customer service experience I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. One of the bartenders was extremely rude and aggressive towards me and a friend. There was a miscommunication regarding my order, which led to an absurd amount of stress trying to resolve the issue. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR! Surely there must be many better ones with more respectful and prepared staff to handle this and other situations.

Do not visit this place. Worst possible bar experience. There was a misunderstanding between my friend's order and the bartender (the bald guy), who was extremely rude and disrespectful. Even when we said we understood the misunderstanding and reordered, he continued to treat us badly. It seemed like he was already on the defensive, looking to pick a fight with someone. We ended up having to pay the minimum consumption without even drinking, as we left. To make matters worse, the cloakroom attendant accused us of already having taken off our clothes, even though he was the one who got the numbers wrong. Everything here is in terrible taste, and judging by the reviews, this happens frequently. Horrible, I really don't recommend it.

Because of the vast number of terrible reviews, I felt compelled to give an update as of April 2026. This was my first time visiting this bar. A group of friends stopped in shortly after opening time on a Tuesday night. A somewhat terse fellow met us in the main street-level room, asked us in English if it was our first time, and requested that we read the rules. He took out coats and bags and hung them on a rack, and handed us our paper slips for our bar tabs. We went downstairs to the very atmospheric bar, and the friendly, sexy bartender greeted us and spoke great English. There were only a few guys there at that time, so the vibe was a little "nervous" rather than chatty and friendly. We weren't there for the reasons most people go, we just wanted to have some drinks at a gay bar, and we enjoyed underground, old-world feel of the place. When it was time to leave, the bartender took our papers, calculated everything correctly, charged our card, and we left. No one was rude or tried to rip us off, we had no trouble communicating with any of the employees, and we enjoyed ourselves. I think the terrible reviews are from before they re-opened, or from insanely busy nights when overworked employees are trying to keep up with the masses. We would totally go back!

It's overpriced and customer service is so bad

Great. The waiters were very friendly, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere was very good.

Returned here after an absence of about 6 months. I'm pleased to say that standards are just as high as before. The most noticeable improvement is that they seem to have "let go" the two naff barmen. Also, whoever cleans this vast establishment does a stella job. Having frequented this bar on many occasions over the past few years it does seem to have turned itself around. Service wise. It used to be a rather austere attitude both at the entrance and often worse in the bar. Now you are greeted with a smile and a hello. The bar staff have a good command of English which is a huge bonus, considering the amount of worldwide visitors they have. It's a large venue and kept very clean throughout and a safe environment. When you enter you hand your jacket to the staff member who will give you a drinks card. Go down the stairs and place your drinks order with the barman. He will then write down the cost of your drinks on your drinks card. This you do throughout the evening. When you wish to leave go to the bar and pay. (Cash or Card) They will add a small amount on to the bill for service. Take your stamped drinks card upstairs to the coat check and reclaim your jacket. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are not out to con you.
