About this place Soma Book Station

Soma Book Station is, by general consensus, the finest cafe in Pristina and one of the most important social spaces the city has to offer its LGBTQ+ community. Set in a thoughtfully designed two-floor space in the Pejton neighbourhood, Soma combines an impressive selection of books with expertly prepared coffee and a food menu that keeps the daytime crowd well fed. The aesthetic is warm, considered, and entirely devoid of the ostentatious branding that plagues lesser establishments. What makes Soma exceptional for LGBTQ+ visitors is not a rainbow flag in the window but something harder to manufacture: a genuine culture of welcome. The staff are relaxed and professional, the clientele skews young, educated, and internationally minded, and the atmosphere on any given afternoon is one of easy coexistence between Kosovars of all backgrounds and visiting foreigners. The ground floor buzzes with daytime energy; the upper level offers quieter corners ideal for long conversations or working with a laptop. On weekend evenings, Soma transitions into a more social mode, with a drinks list that extends well beyond coffee. It is also a regular venue for readings, small exhibitions, and cultural events.
