OVERALL I recommend this hotel if you’re not too keen on small details but instead of the overall experience. I’ve seen people complain about seeing a slight peel of the wallpaper, or a little mildew in the showers, but the overall experience is very nice. STAFF Reception was good, a very polite man checked us in (juiris?) and explained breakfast times, sauna, where our room was and helped with a few questions we had. Breakfast staff was especially nice, a young woman with glasses was very friendly and smiled a lot which was rare from what we heard of Latvia, I honestly wish we could have gotten her name as she was so helpful throughout our whole stay, we talked about a few good places to visit like Ezitis Migla, burzme, some other old town bars and restaurants nearby whilst still keeping it professional. Friendly atmosphere. The staff look very young, although overall not a bad thing I suppose. ROOMS Cleanliness is debatable… overall it’s a good atmosphere more on the older side, it’s not bad. FOOD breakfast was plentiful, the waffle pan seemed a bit dirty but the staff were quick to fix it, hot food refilled frequently, and once again the service was impeccable, rare to see young girls smile nowadays. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the lack of pastries, but since this place is so close to pretty much everywhere it wasn’t too much of a bother.

Excellent service

Good breakfast, nothing extravagant but definitely both choices and what I wanted. The location was absolutely perfect, central and within walking distance of the city. Despite a fairly busy street, it was calm and very quiet in the room Disliked · In front of the hotel was a patio with some outdoor furniture. We would have liked to sit here and enjoy both the evening sun and maybe the coffee after breakfast, but unfortunately the place was completely forgotten by the staff. Glasses from the night before were left well into the day, the tables were messy and dirty and cigarette butts lay and smelled in overflowing ashtrays. The place mostly functioned as a smoke screen, which made it very unpleasant to sit here. A shame in an otherwise such a nice place.

Good option for a Riga stay 🏨✨ Monika Centrum Hotels is located in Riga’s embassy district, which feels calm and elegant. We stayed in a Suite with windows overlooking the main street. The rooms are already asking for renovation, but they are still comfortable enough for a good rest. Breakfast was good, and the hotel also has a private sauna, which can be booked in advance — a very nice bonus 🧖‍♂️. Hotel parking is very limited, but there is paid parking nearby. Overall, a solid choice for visiting Riga.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and we both really enjoyed our stay. The room and our bathroom was nice, the actual hotel looks lovely too. The hotel breakfast was decent, we both enjoyed it, my partner who is vegetarian felt he had enough options to have a decent breakfast in the morning. The staff we spoke to were kind and helpful, especially the young girl with black hair whose names didn’t get, but she was very helpful! The hotel is right next to a big park that we enjoyed walking through and there is a Maxxima pretty close to us so we could get snacks, the only reason we have the location 4 stars is because we had to get buses to old town and the centre, and all the bars next to the hotel were very expensive so we had to get a bus elsewhere, but that’s a very minor issue. Overall a very nice hotel!

Very nice, slightly older style hotel. Good food and only 10 minutes walk to the old town.
