Gay Saunas in Riga
Riga's gay sauna scene is small but real. The city has one dedicated gay sauna, Gaysauna.lv, in the central Centrs district — easy to reach and part of the same cluster of queer venues near the Central Station.
Gaysauna.lv
Gaysauna.lv, on Alfrēda Kalniņa iela, is Riga's only dedicated gay sauna. Opened in 2017 (formerly Atbalss), it offers the usual wet and dry saunas, showers and relaxation areas alongside a darkroom and cruising zones, and it screens adult films. It's busiest at weekends, when it draws a mix of locals and visitors. As with the city's cruising bars, it's an adults-only, men's venue.
Best Times to Go
Weekends — especially Friday and Saturday evenings — are the liveliest. Mid-week is quieter if you prefer a calmer visit. You'll pay an entrance fee that covers the facilities for a set time and receive a locker key; most areas are clothing-optional.
Practical Advice
Getting There: Gaysauna.lv is centrally located near the Central Station, walkable from much of the centre. Trams, trolleybuses, buses and ride-sharing apps like Bolt all serve the area.
Ages: Entry is 18+, with a mix of ages among guests.
Safety: Riga is generally safe. Keep your locker key secure, don't leave valuables out, practice safe sex and bring your own protection, and respect other guests' boundaries.
