Here’s how it really is…. We attended on a Thursday, €10 entry but we got free drink each (solid dbl vodka redbull) there were about 20-40 people throughout the night varying as the night went on. Great music, at a sensible level, loud enough for fun and dance but you can still talk and not go deaf. Great dance floor! Drink prices were fine, the bar staff lovely, I even got a free pint of Coca-Cola. Yes there was a slight musty smell, not horrific and yes there is smoking inside but the air con clears that quickly and keeps the club at a good cool temperature. The 3 of us had a great night and all thought it was worthy of a 5 star rating
My girlfriend and I visited Michelangelo’s on a Saturday night in June. We overall had a great time- the music was great (lots of queer pop and dance remixes), drinks were pretty reasonably priced, staff were friendly. The crowd were mainly men but this wasn’t a problem at all and it definitely felt like a safe space to be a gay woman in. I would say the entry fee was quite hefty (€15 per person) without any drinks vouchers etc, the toilets weren’t great (but a member of staff did actually come clean one of the stalls which was very kind!) and the club does smell quite damp and smoky. Overall, though, a really fun and inclusive place to go for a LGBTQ+ friendly night out.
Stunk like a damp cellar. Overpriced entry fee, and people smoking everywhere. Horrible
It’s a shame that one of the very few LGBTQ+ venues in the area does not feel particularly accessible. We visited on a Wednesday and were asked to pay a €10 entrance fee per person. When we asked how busy the venue was, we were told there were around 5 people inside, which apparently is quite normal for a midweek night. We politely asked whether there might be any flexibility or discount on the entrance fee considering how quiet it was, but were told this was not possible. In the end, we decided not to take the risk. Instead, we visited nearby parties and bars; mostly straight venues, but very welcoming and comfortable for gay people; where entry was free, complimentary drink vouchers were being handed out, and the places were full of friendly and attractive people with a great atmosphere. This is meant as constructive feedback only: perhaps it could be worth reconsidering the venue’s strategy and promotions in order to attract more people. It would be great to see an LGBTQ+ space in the area feeling busier, more inviting, and more accessible.
Our first visit here. Sat 23rd May 2026 Easy to find. Rainbow flag outside. Saturday night at 11.30pm our entry fee was €15 per person. This did not include a drink. The cashier said all the tickets for the drinks had already been used up. The guy on door was friendly. When we entered the club there was only 30 people in there initially. The night got busier with around 70 people by 12.30am. There was a friendly atmosphere amongst the crowd which was a mix of locals and tourists. Age range was mixed with both young and older. People were on dance floor and there was a good vibe. The bar staff were efficient and friendly. DJ was ok with a mix of music. The cost of drinks were reasonable. Beer and a coke was €7.50. The club itself does smell a bit. Also smoking is allowed inside the club, which we found unusual as across much of Europe it's no longer allowed. Being the only gay venue in Malta it's good to support but think the entry price should be more like €10. Like the other straight establishments in the local area. We saw a lot of gay people out and about in Malta, including St Julian's area where club is located. With a bit more thought it could be a great venue.
Terrible, very bad smell from the entrance and the dance floor was even worse, terrible music and very, very bad sound
