About this place Centrul de Informații „GENDERDOC-M”

GENDERDOC-M is Moldova's main LGBTQ+ rights organisation, set up in 1998 and based in central Chișinău. Its information centre provides legal aid, documents discrimination and violence cases, offers psychological and community support, and runs advocacy aimed at Moldovan legislation. It also organises Moldova Pride each year. The centre hosts film screenings, talks and community meetings, and is the first contact point for LGBTQ+ visitors who need help or want to find the local community. Call ahead (022 288 861) or check gdm.md before turning up, as the address is not always publicised openly.

I highly recommend the Genderdoc-M Information Center. It is a safe, confidential and accessible place where you can benefit from a wide range of useful services for free. Here you can receive psychological help from professional specialists, free legal assistance, as well as free testing for sexually transmitted diseases. Condoms and lubricant are also provided, and for those who need it, there is the possibility of receiving free PrEP. The team is very kind, well-trained and treats each person with respect and professionalism. A place where safety and confidentiality come first.
