Roze Almere

Roze Almere is the umbrella network for LGBTQ+ life in Almere, connecting the city's volunteer groups and acting as the main point of contact for the local community. Under its banner sit initiatives such as Roze 50+ (for older LGBTQ+ residents), the police-linked Roze in Blauw, a local Gay-Straight Alliance, and Diversity Almere for younger people, alongside signposting to support and social activities. Almere is an official Dutch "Regenboogstad" (Rainbow City), and Roze Almere works with the municipality and the wider Regenboognetwerk Flevoland to promote acceptance across the province. There is no standalone COC office in Flevoland today; the region is covered by COC Amsterdam through a local coordinator, so Roze Almere is the practical first stop for LGBTQ+ visitors and newcomers who want to connect locally.
