Mixed dormitories with shady characters, non-working lockers, and bedding with unclear stains. The staff, however, were extremely friendly.

We've stayed at the Green Elephant Hostel 10 days ago. I got to say, that was the most horrible night I'ver ever paid for. The reason for that was the unbearably high temperature in the "pod" we've slept in. The air-conditioning didn't work on our floor (3rd). The temperature was 30 degrees in our room which had at least 16 of these "pods", so up to 32 people. Inside of the pods, the temperature was even higher. It was practically impossible to sleep, we were sweating without even moving. It felt like a sauna. We spoke to the receptionist, who told us the technician would come anytime. Afterwards we found out that problem with the air-conditioning had been going on for months after reading some reviews. After talking to another receptionist in the morning and demanding a refund, I was told the manager would contact me asap, which hasn't happened yet. In conclusion, I want to say that these so-called “pods”—which you can't even stand up in, are smaller than a prison cell, cost 120 euros, and are called “private rooms” even though they're absolutely not—are already a borderline offer. Add to that an unbearable temperature that makes it impossible to sleep, and it's an absolute disgrace. The entire floor should be closed until the air conditioning issue is resolved. Otherwise, those in charge expose themselves as ruthless money-grabbers who leave their innocent staff to deal with the consequences of these irresponsable accomodation conditions.

Awesome place to stay, great common area to hangout, good service, very cheerful staff. Would highly recommend for an affordable stay.

The sleeping pods (cocoons) in the dormitories are extremely small, and to make matters worse, the air conditioning on the third floor is currently not functioning. Under these circumstances, these pods should not be rented out at all. This situation demonstrates a clear disregard by the hostel management for the comfort and well-being of their guests and appears to prioritize profit over basic guest satisfaction. The reception staff are in an unenviable position, as they are forced to deal with the complaints and frustration of guests despite having no control over the situation. Even after repeated requests, the hostel operators have failed to contact affected guests regarding compensation or any form of resolution. This lack of communication and accountability is highly disappointing and unacceptable.

Very nice hostel, affordable and clean. Delicious breakfast. Cosy spaces to relax. Ideal location: the station is around the corner, the centre is just a walk away. Very recommended!

Lovely hostel, with a cozy common area, but also plenty of room for privacy. A nice place to be.
