About this place Bar Babylon

Bar Babylon is a gay cocktail bar located at Sankt Olavs plass in Oslo, positioned next to Cafe Tekehtopa. The venue features a rock DJ who creates an energetic atmosphere for guests looking to enjoy drinks and music in a welcoming environment. Oslo's LGBTQ+ nightlife scene offers visitors a range of social spaces, and this bar fits into that landscape as a cocktail-focused destination. The rock DJ sets a lively tone, making it a good spot if you're looking for an upbeat evening rather than a quiet conversation venue. A practical perk is the backyard area, which opens when weather permits. You can enjoy cocktails outside until 10pm during warmer months, giving you flexibility in how you spend your evening. Whether you're a visitor exploring Oslo's gay scene or a local looking for a familiar hangout, this centrally located bar offers straightforward hospitality and live music. We just enjoyed the most extraordinary dinner at Bar Babylon. This place is like a secret hide-away, tucked behind a small door and down a narrow path, opening up to a spacious patio. You feel like you've discovered a secret, and you have, it's a true gem. The staff is so friendly and fun and the food is absolutely incredible. We had the tonkotsu and the udon nudler, wow! We've had delicious food in many countries and this little spot is one of the very best.

Very good udon noodles! And the Yuzu sour was to die for. Staff was also very friendly. My one big issue was the music. It was very loud so having a conversation was kinda difficult. And also they only played one genre the whole time: rap. And that's not my jam. I was expecting more Japanese music maybe? And I get that it's a bar, but we were there at 18.30 so maybe lower the volume of the music until like 21pm? So it's actually possible to eat and have a convo at the same time.

Great bar with some tasty bites to add to the ambiance. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!

Great bar with a relaxed, friendly vibe and a nice mix of drinks, including creative cocktails and interesting sour beers. The atmosphere is cozy and often lively, especially in the backyard beer garden on warmer evenings. It’s a bit hidden behind St. Olavs Plass and can get busy, which just adds to its charm. A lovely spot to grab a drink with friends — definitely worth checking out if you enjoy good drinks and a fun local hangout.

Cheap and good, the way all Norwegians like it. ❤️
