Cișmigiu - Bistro La Etaj

This is a spacious and beautiful restaurant on the top (6th) floor of the Hotel Cismigiu. We enjoyed an excellent eggplant appetizer, fine onion soup -- better than in Paris -- and a delicious duck with sweet cherry sauce: two good-sized, moist pieces of duck breast served atop sweet potato puree with strips of carrot, surrounded by a few small potato timbales, and in the middle a sweet and slightly boozy cherry sauce into which pieces of duck could be dipped to add flavor. Service was pleasant. We would be pleased to return. The only negative: we would have preferred not having rock music piped in.

Nice atmosphere, cool setup, good food. Our waiter, Ionut G, was a very nice host. Will definitely come back again. We enjoyed the desert a lot!

Cismigiu Bistro is the perfect place for any occasion, whether you’re celebrating a special birthday or just enjoying a chill Sunday out. The atmosphere is absolutely enchanting, elegant, feminine, and filled with a charming pink story that gives the place a unique and cozy vibe. The food is nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend the duck, it’s the best I’ve ever had in Bucharest, cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. Every dish I’ve tried here has been a delight. If you’re looking for a beautiful setting, top-notch food, and a memorable experience, Cismigiu Bistro is definitely the place to go.

Great atmosphere, the waiter Galbeniță was very kind and nice, the food was excellent, and so were the drinks. Everything was outstanding, as always! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here.🥰

I spent many evenings at Bistro la Etaj and it never fails to be a delightful experience. Wether just as a couple or in a 20+ person party, the staff are always attentive and the food is delicious. Special thanks to Ionut E for catering the needs of very large groups.
