via Stay22About this place XL Spa
XL is the most reliably open of Moscow's surviving gay saunas right now. The space runs across four floors at Nastavnichesky Lane 11, near Kursky station — pool and water area on one level, Finnish sauna and hammam on another, a small bar, a dark room that newer visitors regularly miss because the signage is thin. Hours are 5pm to 6am daily, though several recent Russian listings note that staff prefer prior booking, especially weeknights.
Pricing isn't consistent across Russian platforms — Yandex Maps quotes 400–600 RUB, 2GIS shows from 1,000 RUB per hour, and older directory snapshots list 700 RUB/hour. The gap probably reflects different products (entry vs. private room) rather than rate changes, but assume the cash you bring should cover the higher end. There's a deposit system at entry; a recent 2GIS review found it confusing on a first visit. Wheelchair access isn't available.
Recent 2GIS reviews trend positive — friendly crowd, working sauna, worth returning. The most detailed critical review (early 2026) flagged a non-working pool feature and weak wayfinding between floors. Still, XL has the cleanest current-operations footprint of Moscow's gay saunas, and the dark room is one of the few in the city that's been confirmed by reviewers as still active.
Privacy note: Moscow's broader environment matters more than any one venue's house rules. Russian community media documented venue raids and document checks through 2024 and 2025, and outing tactics on national television have targeted patrons of gay clubs and saunas. No specific recent incident is publicly tied to XL, but caution about phones, IDs, and timing is now part of any Moscow venue visit.

I went on Monday and Wednesday; there weren't many people, only about a dozen. The first time, the front desk charged 900 rubles, and the second time, 1000 rubles.
Everything is great
Not a bad place, but it needs some renovation.
