The heatwave in Ljubljana is awful. We sat down in the markets nearby because it was the only place with shade, and they kicked us out. How nice of them. We're definitely not coming.

The hotel was built in 1960s and seems to carry tradition from those times. — The air conditioner, while installed, doesn’t do the job, not even close. The temperature in the room stays at about 26-28C, and the air is stuffy. At first I assumed the AC just wasn’t working, so I called the front desk. Someone came up immediately, was polite, and assured me the maintenance will take care of it. I spent the night sweating, tossing and turning and the next morning raised the same issue with another front desk person. They assured us by the evening that the issue was resolved, but it was not. Instead we learned from other guests that all of them have been experiencing the same problem. This is very uncomfortable considering the heat wave outside. No comfort whatsoever! — The water temperature in the shower fluctuates randomly, there’s nothing one can do. — 3 elevators are clearly insufficient. The wait time is unacceptable. Besides, twice I saw how the doors closed BEFORE everyone was able to get out! So we had to exit for a much longer time again to get on the elevator, and several people inside traveled up against their will! Yikes. To make matters worse, one of the elevators was out of service over the weekend. — The little round table in the room is NOT a desk and cannot substitute one if you came here for business. — The towels seem to be original circa 1964. They look old, cheap, grayish and thin, not what you’d expect at a 4-star hotel. — During flushing, water from the toilet sprays all around the bathroom, reaching the floor, your tooth brush, and your face. — Cleaning is done AROUND the objects in the room. You notice all the familiar little puddles on the floor and undisturbed shoes in the same position you saw them before. Other than that, it’s a nice hotel. But definitely not luxurious or elegant.
