About this place Secrets Bar

Secrets Bar is a relatively new gay bar at Calle de la Ballesta 7, a short street between Gran Vía and Calle del Desengaño on the Malasaña side of central Madrid, a few minutes' walk from Boyberry and Erotic Palace and ten minutes from Chueca. It works on two levels. Upstairs is a conventional neighbourhood bar with comfortable seating, popular music and affordable drinks, where people actually talk before anything else happens. Downstairs is the part that puts it on this page: a basement darkroom and cruising area the bar calls the Secret Zone, with private cabins and glory holes. Listings describe the cruising space as having grown over time as the bar found its crowd. The bar runs regular themed fetish nights (gear, underwear and similar), but on an ordinary evening there is no dress code and the door is friendlier than at the private clubs; it is often recommended to first-timers who find Strong or The Ring intimidating. The crowd is mostly men, mixed in age, with the kink-friendly nights drawing the fetish regulars. Opening hours are not published on the listings we could verify in 2026, and the bar works mainly through its social media, so check there before going; expect evening and late-night hours in line with the other Gran Vía-area cruise bars. Entry to the bar is free; drinks are the business model. Nearest metro: Gran Vía (lines 1 and 5) or Callao (lines 3 and 5). Standard cruise-bar etiquette applies in the Secret Zone: no photos, a no is a no, condoms and lube are usually available at the bar but bring your own as backup.
