Absolutely appalled by our experience at Grand Hotel Costa del Sol. What should have been a relaxing holiday turned into stress, illness and genuine concerns about food safety. The first major issue came at dinner when I was served a sausage that was visibly raw inside. We immediately took it to a member of staff, who removed all the remaining sausages from the buffet and had them cut in half and cooked further. We spent part of our holiday feeling unwell. Shockingly, this was not a one-off incident. At another dinner service, we were served chicken that again appeared raw/undercooked in the middle. We took photos because at this point we simply could not believe it was happening again. After already becoming unwell earlier in the holiday, finding more undercooked meat was genuinely alarming and completely destroyed any confidence we had in eating at the hotel. To make matters worse, on the day of departure we were initially told our all-inclusive would end at 12pm despite not leaving for the airport until the evening, leaving us with hours at the hotel without food or drinks. It was only after raising our concerns and complaints about the food issues that they finally agreed to let us keep our all-inclusive wristbands until we left. The location may be lovely, but sadly the experience was overshadowed by poor food standards, lack of communication and handling of guest concerns. Serving meat that appears undercooked not once, but twice, is simply unacceptable. We left feeling disappointed, frustrated and very relieved to be going home. I would not return.

The truth is, the hotel isn't what it looks like in the photos. My husband and I came on vacation and wow... it leaves a lot to be desired. The food is disgusting, there's not much variety, everything is dry and bland. The food they grill is minimal... some burnt chicken, equally burnt fish. The food is absolutely terrible. For a 4-star hotel, my goodness, it's one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. The only things we liked were the location and the comfortable bed. Also, the first day the air conditioning wasn't working; we were roasting in the room until they came to fix it. Then the coffee they serve is from a machine, one of those undrinkable ones, and a good coffee is really important. We had booked the all-inclusive package, and you go to the pool bar to ask for a decent coffee from a machine, and they even charge you for it. It's shameful for the price of the hotel, my goodness... I don't recommend it at all. A regrettable experience.

We are very disappointed with the lack of entertainment here for a 4 star hotel. We expected everywhere in this hotel to be all inclusive no where on the hotels website did it say the only place that does entertainment in this hotel we had to pay for the drinks. There was no entertainment anywhere in this hotel other then the rooftop but we did not expect to pay more money for drinks. I think this was an absolute joke when we went to reception and asked if there was anymore entertainment on and he said no just the roof top and when we said we had to pay extra for drinks up there he just couldn’t care. So our first night we had to go to the dead bar upstairs which was the only one open that was still doing drinks with all inclusive. No music no nothing so we are now having to pay extra money to go out to enjoy ourselves in the evening. If we had known it would be like this we would have picked another hotel as I don’t believe this can be a 4 star hotel when it’s like this, I’ve never known anything like it.
