Negative experience with the food; I think it's the worst hotel I've been to on the Costa Dorada in terms of food. Very little variety, inferior even to 3-star hotels. Everything else was very good, the pool and rooms, but I think it will be the last time I come because of the very bad food.

My experience at the MedPlaya Calypso Hotel was quite disappointing compared to previous visits (2006, 2010, 2016, and 2019). One of the main problems is the lack of staff at the buffet. It's unacceptable that there are only four people serving around 900 guests. The staff does their best, but it's clear they are overwhelmed. This results in uncleaned tables, slow replenishment of food and tableware, and service that leaves much to be desired. The responsibility doesn't lie with the staff, but rather with a clear lack of personnel. I also want to highlight the delays in room cleaning. On several days, my room wasn't ready until quite late, which is very inconvenient when you want to rest or prepare for the rest of your vacation. Again, the problem seems to be a lack of staff... Another aspect that has worsened is the entertainment. The quality of the activities and shows has noticeably declined compared to previous years, diminishing some of the hotel's appeal. And I should add that the pools are slow to open (the one that looks like a beach opens at 10:00 and closes at 19:00, and the one with the water slides opens at 10:30 and closes at 19:30). On Saturday, the beach pool opened half an hour late, and today, Tuesday, at the water slide pool, they start putting up the fences an hour before closing time and turn off the water in the slides half an hour before. Finally, the showers have a significant problem: the drains don't work properly, the water accumulates and ends up flooding the bathroom, something that should be fixed as soon as possible for comfort and safety. It's a shame to see how a hotel with so much potential has reduced the quality of service in such important aspects. I hope that management takes note of these shortcomings and takes the necessary steps to recover the level it previously offered. I've been here several times, as I've already mentioned, which is why this review is very justified and, frankly, a bit sad because we loved it and were always eager to return, and I've recommended it to family and friends. But since it got its fourth star, it's left much to be desired. Three stars and the old atmosphere were better than four stars when there are much better guesthouses available...

I've been coming for 8 years. They've changed owners and it shows. Everything has gone downhill; the entertainment staff seem to be drunk and end up getting fired. The food used to be very good, but now it leaves much to be desired. The only good things are the pools and the attentive, very friendly staff.
