Superb experience. Warm welcome and excellent hospitality. The staff were attentive and helpful. The room very comfortable, beautifully designed with adequate space for work. Central location with easy access to the airport. I work in Basel 3-4 times a year and will be returning Der Teufelhof on a regular basis. Loved the combination of art and theatre too.

We spent a night in your charming hotel and were overall delighted with our stay. The reception was very friendly, the restaurant “Atelier” (which we already knew) met our expectations, the general condition and cleanliness of the room left no room for criticism, and the breakfast was excellent. What we regretted: that in this building without elevator there is no assistance with luggage offered (at 80 years old this will be a bit difficult), a certain clutter in the hallways and the impractical arrangement of the sockets; shortcomings that can be easily remedied.

This place is an absolute gem! Situated on the edge of the old town of Basel, the location is prime for sightseeing but off the beaten path enough to be quiet. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel itself is intriguing. In the space of three adjacent buildings, the place is a combination hotel, art gallery, theater, Michelin rated restaurant, wine cellar, and archaeological dig, and yet it is small, welcoming and quaint. The service was excellent, and the hotel provides a pass for free rides on all public transit and reduced entrance fees to the many museums and attractions in Basel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to several friends who are scheduled on the Viking cruise between Amsterdam and Basel.

Breakfast is at another building. Parking is 5-7 mins walk and park places are small. They don't park the car at the hotel. Somehow it was not communicated in advance so was huge disappointment. Rooms are not noise protected. Breakfast was great, however no fish and in general lack of variety, however the food was great. The lady on reception was providing excuse that they are boutique and design hotel and guests are satisfied. LoL.

My colleague and I visited during five days of Basel Carnival 2026. What an experience. We had two very nice, comfortable and soundproofed rooms in the new building SET. For dinner we were each in the restaurant Atelier. Breakfast was very fine; so was dinner. We were really amazed how friendly, serene and perfectly the staff organizes this carnival time, So this «Drey sheaned daege» coped. Absolutely remarkable. Compliment. The boss actively helped with the service, and always found time to chat with guests. After the Morgenstraich, on February 23rd, there was Restaurant already at 5 am Flour soup, Cheesecake and wine, beer, etc. Another highlight were the Schnitzelbängg in the Teufelhof Theater with a preceding, delicious Dinner in the historic cellar. This hotel is also historically extremely interesting, and I'll be here this summer for a come back to the Teufelhof for a few days and participate in a guided tour. Thanks again to the entire Teufelhof team for this exuberant Basel experience.
