About this place Werdinsel Beach

Werdinsel (Wärdhölzli) is a river island in the Limmat on the western edge of Zürich, and its downstream, wooded end is the city's long-established gay and nude (FKK) bathing spot. In summer, gay men gather to sunbathe and swim in the river, with the tree-lined areas toward evening also known as a discreet cruising spot. It's a public, tolerated bathing area reached in about 10–15 minutes on foot from the Werdhölzli/Tüffenwies tram stop, walking downstream along the Limmat. Bring water and sun protection, respect other bathers' privacy, and be mindful that it is an open public space.

Good place to sunbathe. Pleasant location, not too busy and well maintained. Easy to get to from the tram. Naturist part is further up from the main part.

walking all along the river downstreams, you will come to this little island located in the river, with its swimming area and a cultural institution with restaurant. a nice stroll to come here and a pleasant place to pass a sunny summer day.

Discovered this lovely Badi this summer. Very relaxing way to spend a few hours by the river Limmat. Life guard to ensure a safe swim. Would be worthwhile taking a snorkel and mask as the water is exceptionally clear and plenty of fish to watch. The flow is quite gentle here which makes for a very relaxing swim. Changing facilities and lockers available. There is a lovely little kiosk selling snacks and a beautiful area for toddlers. Well worth a visit!

On a sunny day this is packed with sunworshipping. You can jump into the river and cool off. Bit further down by the wooden area you can even take all your clothes off.

This is a very crowded place on a summer's day or a nice day. It is a really nice place. It is probably best to visit on a weekday and certainly outside of holiday time. There are places to have something to eat and drink. It is a place worth visiting as you can walk from here back to Zurich along the river

Very nice place to take a bath in the Limmat. Sometimes a bit crowded but still easy to find a place if you don't mind sitting close to other people. Extensive facilities for chanching and also a nice Restaurant.

Wahrt start's with a short stretch of swimmable and lifeguarded channel leading to a river power station and has a zone for toddlers watergates, a building for taking showers and change next to the zones openair cafeteria with good food and delicious cakes, goes on long the river and then in the nudism free Zone of Werdinsel that features generous zones for Skinny dipping and several times a year hosts little quaint festivals. The river power station opens on Saturdays as a little museum of river-water energy production.

Great place to hang out in the summer with kids or with friends. Drinks and food are a little pricey so I would suggest bringing your own. But all in all would highly recommend
