Queer & Friends – FUORI

Starting in September, the cinema hall with the yellow seats will become even more colorful! Sarah Ley and Jean-Gé Carrey present the monthly film series «Queer & Friends»: great entertainment, open discussions, and cinema evenings that bring people together. From queer film classics to documentaries to the latest discoveries, everything is included. Beforehand, enjoy a stylish cocktail at the cinema bar, followed by a short discussion or conversation with guests.
In September, we are showing FUORI (Italy, 2025, 115 min. It/d) by Mario Martone with Valeria Golino, Matilda De Angelis, Elodie, Sylvia De Fanti, Stefano Dionisi, Francesco Gheghi.
Rome, 1980. The writer Goliarda Sapienza, known for the epic novel “The Art of Joy,” ends up in prison for jewelry theft, but the encounter with some young female inmates proves to be a kind of rebirth for her. After her release from prison, during a hot Italian summer, the women continue to meet, and Goliarda forms a deep relationship with Roberta, an ordinary criminal and political activist. A relationship that no outsider can understand, but through which Goliarda rediscovers the joy of life and the urge to write.
