About this place Ehli Keyif Cafe

Ehli Keyif is a small, low-key café-bar in İzmir's Konak district, just back from the Kemeraltı bazaar, and one of the few spots in the city with a settled gay clientele. It draws a mixed, largely male local crowd — including an older bears-and-friends set — who come for tea, coffee, drinks and unhurried conversation rather than a big night out. There is no flashy signage or dance floor; the appeal is exactly that it is relaxed, familiar and unbothered, a place where regulars know each other and newcomers are left in peace. For visitors it works best as an easy afternoon or early-evening stop to get a feel for İzmir's discreet queer social life before heading up to the Alsancak nightlife streets.

It's beautiful in its new form. The dancing section isn't big, but it's nice. I went there last time during the holiday, and it was fun. Please play more foreign live music.
