I booked here instead of Edgbaston Park Hotel as it's affiliated, just a bit cheaper. Straight away you understand why as it feels a bit like EPH's poor relation, a little unloved. You can park your car free of charge in the multi storey next to EPH or outside Peter Scott House but then you have to pay. There's no reception so you check in at EPH. The rooms are fine, bathroom a little outdated and rough around the edges but everthing worked, unlike the TV. A quick phone call and a member of staff promptly popped over to check it out but I had to move rooms as he couldn't get it working. New room was fine till it came to bedtime, the light outside my window was strobing. Even with the blind down it felt like I was at a rave. I mentioned it to EPH in the morning and they offered to move me but I didn't fancy doing that again so she said they'd get someone to look at it. Come bedtime the light began its flashing again, I mentioned it again at checkout and they thought they'd sorted it but clearly not. Apart from that the bed was 2 singles joined together so they dipped in the middle, I didn't see another soul the whole 2 days I was there, so a little strange as a lone female coming and going. All in all it was an ok experience but you definitely get what you pay for. (Fan in room was much appreciated) I had already booked for a stay later in June so I'll wait to see if the light has been fixed.

Nice somewhat ordinary rooms but great price, on university campus and near the conference centre and main hotel and bar/ restaurant
