Cardiff's gay scene is small but established, mostly on Charles Street. Sauna options are limited—it's a small capital—but what's there works for locals.

Club X Cardiff

This is Cardiff's main sauna: steam, dry sauna, jacuzzi, dark rooms, and private cabins. It's near the Charles Street gay bars. Open daily, with themed nights during the week. It's the city's oldest dedicated sauna.

The Charles Street Scene

Charles Street is Cardiff's gay bar strip. It's a short stretch with a few spots: Eagle Cardiff, The Golden Cross (a historic Victorian pub, one of Wales' oldest gay bars), and others. You can walk the whole area in an evening. It's about 10 minutes on foot from Cardiff Central station.

Cardiff Pride

Cardiff Pride happens in August. It's the biggest Pride event in Wales, with a parade through the city center. People come from all over Wales and western England for it.

⚠ Practical note: Cardiff is a small capital. The gay scene is genuinely compact. If you want more sauna choices, Bristol is an hour away by train. Cardiff is welcoming and safe; the Charles Street area is visible and well-known.

Getting There

Cardiff's easy to get to by train—2 hours from London Paddington on the Great Western main line, about 50 minutes from Bristol. The gay area is a short walk from Cardiff Central station.
