BearScots Weekend Edinburgh
About This Event
BearScots weekend, Scotland's main bear event, takes place every autumn in Edinburgh. It's run by BearScots, a social group for bears, cubs, chubs, and their admirers. The crowd is mostly UK-based and friendly - the 2024 weekend sold out.
The event runs from Thursday to Sunday, with pub nights, tea dances, and a themed dress-up night - "on the farm" in 2024, "Cabaret" in 2023. Saturday's highlight is a kilt and harness party that wraps up with scotch pies, followed by the election of Mr BearScots at the Sunday finale show. Past winners include Sean Beasley in 2023 and James Martin in 2024.
Outside of the weekend, BearScots hosts monthly socials in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and has added a spring event in Glasgow. The last confirmed dates were 3 to 6 October 2024. For 2026, listing sites show 30 September to 4 October, but we couldn't get confirmation from the organisers. As of our last check, 2027 dates hadn't been announced.
