On a quiet Chelsea side street off King's Road, this long-established gay bar is one of London's oldest still operating, a living piece of the capital's queer history that's been pouring drinks since the mid-20th century.
Its two main rivals for the "oldest gay pub in London" title have both closed. This one's a rare survivor.
The place feels removed from central London's noise. It's tucked away, a quiet spot that reflects Chelsea's shift from a bohemian, artistic neighborhood to something more polished. That history and character stick to the walls. You get an authentic look at London's gay bar culture through the decades. The atmosphere pulls from that legacy, making a welcoming place for LGBTQ+ travelers who want cultural significance, not some purpose-built trend.
If you're into London's queer history, or just want a local gay bar with some staying power, this is it. The out-of-the-way spot adds to its charm. You'll find it on Tryon Street in Chelsea, Greater London.

Had a blast at this pub. Joel(The best bartender I’ve ever had) made it an incredible experience. 10/10 would drink again!
Friendly pub with calm atmosphere. Great selection of Ales.
Currently my favourite pub in London. Staff are always nice and the selection is always very good. Never eaten here but would assume the food is good as well
