About this place The George & Dragon

Located on Blackheath Hill in Greenwich, this gay bar offers LGBTQ+ travellers a relaxed and inclusive space to enjoy an evening out. As a standalone gay venue in this part of London, it provides a social hub for the local community and visitors alike, making it a convenient option if you're exploring the Greenwich area or staying nearby. Gay bars across London range from intimate neighbourhood spots to larger venues with dance floors and entertainment programming. What you'll typically find at established gay bars includes a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and a regular clientele. These venues often serve as gathering places where visitors can meet locals, enjoy drinks, and experience the social side of London's LGBTQ+ scene. The neighbourhood setting of this Greenwich location suggests a more relaxed vibe compared to some of the larger clubs found elsewhere in the city. For more information about what's on offer, current opening hours, and any events or specials, you can visit their website at georgedragon.com. A place with great atmosphere and I’ve been going here many years since the Duchess took on this place. It’s friendly, fun, local and open late plus drag with attitude.too! Paul’s put a huge amount of effort in here over the years while all around we see gay venues vanishing from the scene. Love the place . .

We came here as lgbt, none locals, after attending from an event nearby. Seeing as there was potential drag and lgbt acts prime time on a Saturday we were excited to finish our night here or even to have a little dance. We were highly dissapointed. There was no drag act, the place was dead at midnight, the guiness wasn't good. For a Saturday night it was a poor showing. Which was fine but the music was so poor it just killed the vibe. The dance floor was dead, some 80s oor fillers would make every difference. Some stuff i have never even heard of or really backdated, none popular stuff. We sent the drinks back they were so bad, apparently the 'end of the barrel'.Everyone looked depressed . We had one drink and left. Really wished we had picked the other lgbt option in the area. The place needs a little love and attention.
